Monogram Etiquette |
1.) Don't be afraid to break the rules. It's your monogram. Request what you would like. 2.) Single initials whether for a first name or last name are always acceptable. 3.) If you like tradition, for a female's monogram, typically the first name initial goes on the left, last name initial goes in the center (larger), and middle name initial goes on the right. For example, Anne Beth Cooke would appear ACB. 4.) For a male's monogram traditionally the initals appear in order and all the same height. For example, Alex Brian Cooke would appear ABC. 5.) For a married couple in which the wife has taken her husband's last name, typically the wife's first inital appears on the left, the husband's on the right and their common last name larger in the center. For example, Amy & Brad Campbell would appear ACB. 6.) For life partners who are retaining both their last names, here are two suggestions: Adam Brown & David Smith could appear ABSD or BS. |
